WWII U.S. Army M1943 Cotton Field Cap by J. W. Bayly & Son, Inc. Size 7 1/4 (1945)Description This original WWII U. S. Army M1943 cotton field cap was manufactured in 1945 by J. W. Bayly & Son, Inc. of Thomasville, Georgia. It is a desirable size 7 1 4 and exhibits the wool lined ear protection and metal ventilation eyelets. Inscribed on the interior trim is its original owner's name "Joseph M. Edwards". A search of the National Archives unfortunately reveals too many results to be conclusive.
